In this Test Tuesday, we are testing Hold the Foam glue for Styrofoam. I’m comparing this adhesive side by side with white glue.
(White glue is pictured left on the images.) I have tested samples of Readi-Board, Adams Premium, Readi Water Resistant and Readi-Erase. The product advertises bonding between foam and other surfaces, so we removed the paper facer from one side of each of the test pairs. When applying, I noticed that the Hold the Foam is thicker, and more viscous. I applied equal amounts of adhesive on each sample, and allowed the glue to dry for 24 hours.

The white glue was still damp on the interior of all of the samples, which I believe contributed significantly to the less impressive bond. Overall the Hold the Foam performed better than the white glue. Even on the Readi-Erase and Readi Water Resistant samples, the foam held fairly well to the water resistant and dry erase facers.
I'd be curious how this compares, side by side with hot glue, both in strength and in weight. On the weight front I'd make sure it had time to dry out completely, which might vary depending on the humidity in your area.
