In this week’s Test Tuesday, we are investigating how silicone sealant behaves on a variety of foam board samples. I am using DAP Silicone Plus 100% Silicone Rubber Sealant in a white color.
The standard Readi-Board, Adams Premium and Readi-Grid samples all behaved the same. The silicone adhered to the paper and did not damage the foam underneath. The silicone adhered well to the Readi-Erase and Read Water Resistant samples, despite the smooth surfaces.
The silicone was easily removed from the No Paper sample. There was some damage to done to the foam, but this is the result of removing the bead of silicone. It didn’t appear that the silicone itself did any damage to the foam.
